Abstrak

School Based Management (SBM) is one form of education reforms that give an autonomy to the schools to organize life according to the potential, demands and needs. Autonomy in the management is the school work to improve the performance of the educational staff, offering direct participation related groups, and enhance people's understanding of education. This is expected to have an impact on improving the efficiency, effectiveness and performance of schools by providing educational services are comprehensive and responsive to community needs. Based on the background of the problem, especially the reality of what happened in SDN Munjung, then formulated the following research question: How does the implementation of school-based management in SDN Munjung? This study aims to determine the implementation of school-based management in SDN Munjung, covering the characteristics of school-based management, stages of implementation of school-based management, the functions are decentralized to schools, the task of principals in the implementation of school-based management and the role of teachers in the implementation of school-based management. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection method in this research is observation or non-participant observation, interview and documentation methods. Data analysis process begins with reviewing all data from interviews, observation and documentation relating to the implementation of school-based management.   Key word : School Based Management
